When grass is cut too frequently or too short, it will start to grow a shallow root system. This means that it will not be able to hold up as well to intensely sunny days, and may dry up and die. Cutting it short may be tempting since it means you may need to cut it less, but you should know that the above might be a consequence. On the other side of the coin, letting the grass grow too tall can be a problem, too.
